OpenBuildings™ Station Designer Help

To export a Structural model to CIS/2

  1. Click the CIS/2 Export icon. The CIS/2 Export dialog opens.
  2. Accept the defaults for the Export to file and Log file settings.
  3. Select Process master file only from the Reference files drop list. Only the Structural members in master file will be exported. Structural members located in referenced files will be ignored.
  4. Select Design from the Export Mode setting drop list. Selecting this mode will include information about the structure’s design assemblies which detail the members and their connections.
  5. Check the Include Reaction Forces option.
Note: The CIS/2 manufacturing model does not support reaction forces. If the Export Mode is set to Manufacturing, this option is disabled.
  6. Select Located Assembly for the handrails setting. Selecting this option exports handrails as an assembly rather than as individual members.
  7. Check the Export curve as polyline option. If the program which will read the CIS/2 file does not support curved members, the CIS/2 Export tool will provide an approximation of the curved member.
  8. Check the Export Shear Stud Coordinates option.
Note: Shear Stud information defined by Structural discipline controls the import and export of shear stud counts and must be defined for models imported from external analysis applications and exported CIS/2 models.
  9. (Optional) Enter the Structural project information to be exported along with the model in the available text fields at the bottom of the CIS/2 Export dialog.
  10. Click OK to complete exporting the Structural model to the CIS/2 format..
